Personalizing a subject line with a contact's first name or other personal information can increase engagement with your emails.

You can insert personalization tags in the subject line of any marketing email you create within Gist. When the email is sent to a contact, that tag will be replaced by a value specific to the recipient. For example, if you wanted to insert a contact's first name in a subject line, you would use the following personalization tag:

{{ contact.first_name }}

When a contact receives your email, they will see their name populated.

You can go to the ‘preview’ and check if the contact details are replaced. If the contact detail does not exist, the field will appear blank.
