The Inbox and Messenger in Gist supports attaching files of a specific type and size. Additionally, depending on your subscription, there's a usage limit to the number of attachments that can be uploaded.
File types
The following file types can be uploaded as attachments in Gist:
- PDF (.pdf)
- PowerPoint (.pptx)
- Comma separated values (.csv)
- Word Document (.docx)
- Text (.txt)
- Images (.png, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg)
- Video (.mp4, .mov)
Note: Certain file types, such as executable files (e.g: .exe), or archive files (e.g: .zip or .rar) are unsupported as they pose a higher risk for malware and malicious content.
If you need to send unsupported or executable file types to your customers via Messenger, we recommend hosting those as secure downloads on your website or using a file hosting service such as Dropbox or Google Drive.
File size
The file size limit for each of these types is 10 MB.
