A cookie is a small piece of data that Gist sends from your website, stored in a web browser and downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit that website. The cookie is then sent back to Gist on each subsequent visit, which is essential for you to be able to identify and track the user's activity automatically.

Cookies are helpful because they allow a website to recognize things such as the user’s device and various preferences regarding engagement with that site.

Cookies perform many essential functions on the web, such as letting a website know whether a user is logged onto a site or not.

Gist also uses cookies to collect information about how your users use your site after they have received an email from you, or the chat conversations they have had with you so far. The cookie tracks data linked to your email address and includes data such as how you arrived at the site, how often you've visited, and which pages you viewed.
